How is Belkyra administered?

Belkyra is typically given in a 15 to 20 minute in-office treatment session. We will administer a series of injections into the area under your chin during each treatment session. We will customize your Belkyra treatment based on your treatment goals.

How many treatments will I need?

Many patients treated with Belkyra experience visible improvement in 2 to 4 treatments. Some people require up to 6 treatments to achieve their desired results. Additional treatments may not be needed!

Is there downtime?

In most cases, downtime is minimal and occurs most commonly after the first treatment.

What are the side effects?

As with other injectable treatments, you may experience side effects with Belkyra. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain and numbness. Most side effects are generally mild to moderate and decreased with subsequent treatments.

What can I expect during my appointment?

To make you more comfortable, before administering Belkyra, we will apply ice/cold packs or a topical and/or injectable local anaesthetic (e.g., lidocaine) to the treatment area. You can take an over-the-counter pain reliever before your appointment. The treatment session will only last 15-20 minutes and afterwards, you may apply ice or a cold pack to the area for 10 to 15 minutes, as needed.
